Hot start problems

Hot start problems
1991 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon. About 225,000 miles.
Starts from cold every time. Will not start from hot. It appears to be an electrical problem, because the starter does nothing (does not engage, crank, or anything). Previous posts have addressed hot no-start problems, but they were all about the engine not firing when (successfully) cranked. Mine will not even crank. Open the hood for 30 minutes, let it cool down, and everything is fine. Once running, high temperature does not bother it.
I have had it in a couple of Volvo shops and they could not figure it out. Any suggestions?

Some of the old Bosch starters won't work when hot - next time it does it, or if you can duplicate it - cool the starter off with cold liquid. I would get phone calls from frustrated customers - they are on their summer trip to Florida, stopped for gas/food and now the starter does not work (of course since I just did a pre-trip check it's my fault, damn rip-off Mechanic!) - I would tell them to buy a cold Coke and pour it on the starter, works every time.
