Heres the deal, new struts, ball joints, mounts, car rides great again. Strut cartidges were original green tubes so 18 years on them....Problem is turning into my work parking lot the steering felt like it was catching. only does that at speeds below 10mph. turning into the parking spot i could feel it again. feels like the rack and pinion has square gears. pump or rack. any info appreciated

I'm thinking it's the pump, i have the pump with the remote fluid container, can i switch it out with the pump that has it all built into the pulley?

 

I would say the rack might be getting worn.

But to answer the quiestion I have seen the conversion done before.
