Default I guess this a thread go here well.

greeting from the US of A.

Another mpg thread! Heres the deal: 96 960 auto meets California emissions but car came from some old codger in Florida: Getting 21 mpg and I do is drive 55-65 mph on the high way; (keeping the car in E mode on the shifter; clean air filter etc. I recently switched to 93 (10% ethanol) from 87 (also 10%). I am trying to get as much mpg as I can. My last car a 98 328i (inline 6 high compression 2.8 litre ) with a short ram intake (thatā€™s right sucking in all that hot engine air( I knowā€¦ I knowā€¦ CAI experts) from the kn cone filter. It also had a dual 2ā€ free flow cat back exhaust ā€˜a nice stock sound to it, but you could tell it had some ***** at WOTā€™. I went from about 22 to 29 mpg with these mods; assuming I drove it nicely. I want to do the same for my 960 (I6 rwd similar engine set up to run on 91 oct). I know the 328 is lighter, but for the most part the set up is the same. Maybe shoot for 26 and get 25? So here the run down on the bmw: (Yes the dog has a current nh drivers license)

These girls: OK just showing off a bit; mpg was about the same with them in the car... heh... Also as an aside the local authorities donā€™t like euro plates on the front and back although I had them on for about a monthā€¦

When I drove nicely and didn't do this: Name: 135mph.jpg

That pretty fast / intimidating. I donā€™t think I will do that with car I donā€™t know, or ever again in this country anyways. ( Once again showing off; Fast cars are like big pickup tucks to short guys with little man syndrome )

And running mobil 1 10-30 I had a MPG of this; Name: IMG_0016.jpg

This is after a whole tank of fuel on few different tries in hot weather (Yes I tested this reading against a GPS and the gal. read out on the pump.)

My ideas: already has a New filter, change plus.
Change the timing belt possibly
Already has mobil 1 10-30
I unplugged the tube to the exhaust manifold for some emissions crap from the air box
Put an after market exhaust thatā€™s not obnoxiously loud?
Possibly modify the air box ?

I need some more MPGā€™s guys! (There are no girls on the internet besides me.) Gas is going to be three dollars soon and I drive 80 miles a day.

So my volvo doesn't get the same mpg as my buick

P.S. Dear reader, I am not responsible if the BMW is faster then your Volvo.

Man I miss that house. No bills. (period!) I had a car for almost every day of the week and the best part? I was 18 and all of my parenting came from my dads debit card. Hemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
