Default Ignition Module?

Hey everyone.
Ok so i went to start my '82 244 Gl this morning and it just turned over and over and would never fire. After some troubleshooting i narrowed the problem down to something in the ignition system. I did some voltage and resistance tests and im pretty sure the coil is fine. spark plugs are brand new. But im not getting any spark at the distributor cap from the wire that connects the coil to the distributor. So i think my problem is the ignition module. I traced the wires coming off the coil that supposidly go to it but they lead up under the intake manifold into a slew of wires and hoses and i cant tell what the hell is going on under there. does anyone know how i can easily test if this is bad. or even where the thing is? do i have to pull off the whole manifold to get to it? any info on this thing at all would help.
Thanks, Nick.

I'm having the same problem. I have nothing going to the coild, I'm postive the coil is good, and I even tryied 4 other coilds, and there is no way that all of them could be bad......

on the 740, you'l find the ingition module, or power stage behind the driver's side head lamp. it's behind wires and screwed to the fender wall. it has a conector attached.

You might also try depressing metal clip and unplugging air mass sensor. If it has gone bad unplugging will put computer in limp home mode. If car now starts you need air mass sensor.
