Ignition wiring help for 1986 radio + unplugged connector?
Hi guys,
I tried putting a new radio into my ‘86 760, and when I turned the key, it was completely dark. I checked the ground, and it appears to be solidly connected, so now I’m thinking it’s an issue with the ignition wiring. On top of this, I’ve found an unplugged connector that seemingly has no place for it to go. Has anyone else run into this problem? How’d you fix it? Photo attached of unplugged connector:

It does seem to resemble the plugs on the back of the instrument cluster, but there isn't a spot for it to plug into. Very odd. Can I just tap into one of the wires on the back of the key cylinder for the ignition? I don't want to burn my car down.
You are just trying to find a power lead to connect the radio? That car has an external amp, you'd have to find it and bypass it or remove it, that'd be the best way to connect the new radio. If it had a stock radio and it was removed, then you need to do that. It's fairly big box located under the driver's side dash, to the left of the steering wheel.
