Found a few past posts/replies that discuss but only sporadically so wondering if I could get a few more weigh-ins on the following? Thank you kindly in advance...

Thinking about installing a set of IPD springs in my 245 and was wondering how necessary is it to install the adjustable panhard rod and torque rods?

A few have said it isn't necessary with only a 1.75/1.5 inch drop front/rear and the fact that a stock B230 ain't gonna put much strain on the driveline when driven 'normally' anyway but others say it's a must to add these parts along with the springs.

Thoughts? Appreciate any input you may have. Thanks!

 

IMHO, the adjustable rods only make sense on a race car thats going to have its suspension very carefully tuned.

the amount you're lowernig the car is within its normal range of suspension travel anyways. load the trunk down on a stock 240 wagon and the tail will be sagging more than 1.5" from rest anyways.

personally, I put overload springs in my wagons, I bought them to haul stuff

 

It is amusing that folks would eschew omitting a part of an automobile that the engineers deemed "necessary" in order for the car to meet certain safety parameters.

 

I would think that the panhard bar would be a decision based on how much your axle moves with the shorter springs. I know that 1.5" may not see like much, but cars are all different and some react differently than others.

I say install the springs and see if the panhard bar is needed. it may or may not be, depending on how much the axle moves laterally...if it moves, get it. if it doesn't, dont.
