Default Installing manual into 940 wagon

Would it be possible to take the manual transmission from a 1994 940 sedan and install it in a 1994 940 wagon? I appreciate the fact that it would be a lot of work and would involve doing some custom work with the firewall, mounting the clutch, etc. My wagon is the 2.3 liter non-turbo version with a 4-speed automatic. My main concern is that this would require a different/custom driveshaft, which would really turn me off to the entire plan.
Thanks,
Fitz

You'd definitely need a different driveshaft, automatics and manuals for the same model are rarely the same size. But finding the right driveshaft shouldn't be a daunting task. I can't imagine that the firewall and transmission tunnel would be any different for the manual and automatic models, they usually aren't. I know my 240 has the enormous transmission tunnel required for the Borg-Warner automatics they were using at the time even though my M40 four-speed is the size of a toaster and weighs forty pounds.

I don't know much about the 940s though, and I've never replaced a transmission with anything but the same model before.

Going from a 940 Sedan to a 940 Wagon ALL your parts should fit, just use the driveshaft from the donor car along with everything else you need like pedals, slave cyl, etc-it would need no modifications whatsoever. All the dimensions are the same for the turbo and the non turbo.
