Some years had rubber over a hard plastic return line that was heat shrinked onto the metal pipe. Some people will cut the hard plastic line then splice over it with standard fuel hose.

I got a new pump and slapped it in with a fresh fuel pump filter too. Now every time I go over a bump, my fuel pump relay clicks then the engine is robbed of gas if there are no more bumps the fuel comes back on. Yesterday I went over a big bump and click click went the relay (new by the way) out went the fuel...dead stop at a picture taking traffic light. HELP

I would say sounds like a loose connection on the new pump or the electrical connector on the tank lid is loose or has an intermittent connection. As much as I hate to say it. Checking the connection on the tank lid is easy just those three screws and youre there if its one of the wires on the pump you may have to pull it back out and tighten them. I just did that job a month ago wasn't horrible but did take some time as I was being very careful not to make sparks.

Yes....you hit the nail on the head...."loose connection".....at the + connection on the battery. I never tightened the + or - terminals....i feel extra extra absent minded.
