IPD Flame Trap Relocation

I have the IPD flame trap relocation kit for my B230F engine, but I wanted to clarify : does this job require taking off the intake manifold or not? The kit's instructions do not indicate that it is necessary, but a rep with IPD on the phone said I would need to remove the intake manifold to complete the relocation.
Are there any auxiliary walk-thrus or resources for this job also?
Thanks.

you /can/ replace the oil separator without removing the manifold but its a real pain in the $$#@, its much easier if you remove the manifold, which isn't nearly as hard to remove as the exhaust manifold. I would imagine much the same with this kit. last time I was in there on a b230, I ended up having to replace the idle air controller little hose bits, so its probably a good idea to have those on hand, as the old ones are likely hardened and on the verge of cracking. I also cleaned the IAC (with throttle body cleaner spray) while I was there.turbo
