Junk yard rip-off?

Junk yard rip-off?
So I found this cool junk yard with a good number of volvos and even better, lot's of things I need and want. I found a 90+ exhaust manifold and a turbo+ 780. I was also on the look out for a B23FT. You can tell what I'm planning. The only problem is when I asked for the price. I figured I could get everything I wanted for $100 or less (not counting the engine). Here's a short list.
Exhaust manifold
driver's side mirror
dipstick
rear middle seat belt buckles
heating pad in the seat
an old shifter ****
and little plastic clips
They wanted 100 bucks for the manifold!
75 for the mirror
25 for the shifter ****
10 for a dipstick
After that I just left. I bought nothing. I went to another yard and got a dipstick for a buck, but they didn't have the other things.
I think that's outrageous, but I wanted some other opinions.

It is a rip off....they make money on the bulk rims more if aluminum...etc etc...they paid a schmuck like me two hundred dollar at most for the cars.
if they ask..."for what kind of car"? bull sshhhh// it.....they don't sell based on the make! all intake manifolds are one price...maybe a little more for a 8 cyl than a 4 that is understandable. but the other crap it is considered generic....as soon as they find out you buy Volvo parts they jack up the price....THIS CRAP HAPPENS TO ME AT MY LOCAL PICK UR PART....I JUST WAIT FOR THE HALF OFF EVERY NOW AND THEN....

I walk off now and then...sometimes I can't afford to wait or buy new...so I pay....BLAAASST.....!
TIP: DO NOT CLEAN PARTS THERE AND TAKE TO THE COUNTER...HAVE THEM AS DIRTY AS POSSIBLE....IF YOU FIND A NEWER PART....GRIME THE THING...CLEAN IT LATER...
TIP:strip off all unnecessary parts to the part you want...
TIP: pay cash....pay cash....pay cash....!
TIP: most likely you will know the "new price" for your part, if not, find out the difference in price or quality,

$100 for an exhaust manifold is an awful lot of money. Too much. In defense of the pick-'n-pull yards, it's a tough business. Some bozo (not us, some another guy) gets in for $2 and has a license to rip apart anything he sees. For example, instead of disconnecting an electrical connector he just hacks it off. It's like a smash-and-grab sometimes. You want a light bulb for the instrument cluster? Just smash the whole thing and leave nothing for the next guy. And then just stick the light bulb in your pocket -- no sense paying for it.

LOL. I think it's to much as well. I can maybe see paying 25 cents on the dollar, but some of that stuff is so old that it's on it's last leg.
I know people that go in there to purchase 1 part and walk out with 4. They do get cleaned out a lot. However, they do make a lot from the cars they take in. They pay $200 to $350 for a 10 year old car and make money off of part for a few months. Then scrap it for $100 on the metal.
