Labor Hours to replace fuel filter
Does anyone know the book time to replace a fuel filter on a 240? I purchased a fuel filter and going to have my local independent Volvo shop install it for me and just want to know what to expect?
I don't know the book time, but I'd say half hour. I did mine in a gravel driveway in that time. That was having never done it before. They may have a minimum charge of an hour or something.
Doesn't take much time or skill UNLESS things are rusted or seized, etc.
I personally never do fuel filters unless I get symptoms like fuel starvation under heavy acceleration. I get grief over it from the mechanics but it works for me... After 40 years of cars you pick up a thing or two...

I am getting sporadic fuel starvation with heavy acceleration on my 1985 with 260k miles on it, thus my reason for replacing the fuel filter. I have already done the fuel relay, plugs, rotor, AMM, cleaned firewall fuse and other fuses, in tank pump working.
there's a flow rate test, where you disconnect the fuel line at the injector rail, and hook up a hose into a jug, manually power the pumps for a couple seconds, and measure how much fuel you get, but I'll be darned if I know what the right number is.
