im looking in to getting my first car, for some reason i have always had a thing for Volvo's even though i dont know anything about them (or any cars for that matter) except that they are safe and durable. safety is very important to me because of seeing what accidents have done to my frineds. i found a couple cars im very interested in, and im not going to lie its mostly because i love the way they look, most people dont agree that an 87 of 88 240DL Volvo is very pretty but its really the only car i can see myself in, but im not about to go out and buy a car because i like the way it looks. so im here trying to find what i need to know about these care that determines whether or not its a good buy or a waist of my time and money. it would mostly be for driving to school and work and kicking around with my frineds.

so my question is, what are some things i should check out when going to look at these cars?, do you think these cars are a good first car just to get from point A to point B? and what is your experience with these cars? (if you have any). also i kind of want to learn to work on cars, i was hoping this could be a car me and my dad could work on together but i could start and reilize its something i really dont enjoy doing.
