Default Looking for seat or cover

The leather seat on our drivers side is getting pretty worn and has split. I am looking for either a good used seat or somewhere I can buy the leather seat skins. We have a 1989 740GL with beige or tan leather seats. Just asking if anyone knows where I might fine one. My only other option would be to have a custom shop make a new one up. Thanks

plan C is semi-custom seat covers from a wide range of online outfits... these are typically cloth, the velour OE style stuff is very durable.

Coverking - Custom Seat Covers
Seat Covers Unlimited - Low Prices - Free Shipping – Quality, Custom Auto and Truck seat covers
Marathon Seat Covers: Custom Truck, SUV Seat Cover specializing in Camo Seat Covers

any of those have computer made covers cut specifically for (pick your make, pick your model, pick your fabric, pick your color)

for bonus points, get a bag of small 'hog rings' and a pair of inexpensive 'hog ring pliers', and use these to secure the bottoms of the seat to the frame. they will fit like new seat covers.

Thanks Pierce but it's gota be either OEM leather or a custom look a like. Thanks

well, a locally made 'look alike' will easily go over $1000/seat. and very well may not fit nearly as nice as the factory covers.

finding 740 seats in good condition is becoming increasingly hard. I just installed a pair of S90/V90 seats into my 740. same color, bolt in, but the electrical connections were somewhat different. the seatbelts and seatbelt latch bolt onto the frame, so I swapped those on, and diddled abit with the wiring to make it play. got me an electric memory drivers seat as part of the upgrade, and the new passenger seat has the mechanical height/tilt adjust that the OE 740 seat didn't. color match is excellent (charcoal grey).

the beige stuff seems to wear out extra fast.

WAIT! just remembered this has been on the local CL for ages. 1988 Volvo 740-760 Parts Available GREAT PRICES!!

wrong coast, but considering how hard they are to find, might be worth the flight, or try and talk him into stripping the skins for you and shipping them. shipping the whole seats coast to coast is prohibitively expensive (would have to go freight, which is like $600 last I checked)

Your best bet is a passenger seat swap--the cushion fits without modifications, the back will just have the lumbar switched around. But finding even a passenger beige leather seat is getting tough. Try one of the many recycling websites and you'll find a seat, like carpart.com. I found several a few weeks ago.
