Default Louvers For a 240

So any one got louvers on their 240? I'm actually mostly interested in how they connect to the car (and how the sit and), hinge and the placement of the prop-rod. I'm thinking about making a set.

louvers? you mean like over the rear window? that fad came and went as they aged horribly and looked like junk in a couple years.

yeah, my uncle had louvers on an 80's Mustang. Carbon fiber louvers to a nicely painted Volvo would be nice.....not thick but very thin louvers...

They would be aluminum and more durable. I'd make them from scratch. I've always loved louvers. My parents had an 81 CRX with louvers. It's the only one I ever saw like that, but it looked great. Plus they really helped keep the heat down. DeLoreans had them, lambos and the like. What's not to like?

I may see the need for louvres (if at all) on the rear of hatchbacks with sloped, more horizontal rear windows to keep the sun out, etc. Four door sedans, Volvo wagons are with pretty much vertical back windows...

Are you talking about inside or outside?

Outside. I take it that no one has them, since you all seem pretty unanimously against them. I'll try over at turbobricks and report. Here are a few examples of the vintage louvers:

Even 740's had the option:

yeah, they were briefly popular in the early/mid 80s.

they tend to look like crap after a few years

You want to go back to the future?

they look good on the black 242 and 240 sedan...but not the gold 740 maybe because of the gold color and louvers being plastic black.

I think that the 700 series louvers don't look great. But I like them on the 240. And who doesn't want to go back to the future?
