Lower control arms

Default Lower control arms

While searching for control arm bushings I found some Moog control arms sold as a unit with the bushing installed. This would seem to make the replacement a lot easier.

Does anyone have any experience with these arms? Any experience with servicing the lower control arms on a volvo 740?

If the 740 control arm is like most I've seen, the bushing have a rubber core and metal case that presses into the control arm. When I replaced the bushings on my old Audi, I removed the control arm, burned out the core then use a saw to score the remaining case to so I could press it out with a home made press (hardened bolts/pipe/washers). install requires a press - I was able to press in with my bolt/pipe/washer design but it wasn't easy (you can't hammer them in). Needless to say, when I did the bushings on my 850, I went with the whole arm as a unit. If you price in paying a machine shop or a tool rental, you're better to just buy the unit.
