'92 bumpers seem to be made of a different color plastic than say the '93s and newer... Side by side, the '93 940 bumpers are black while the '92's 740 are greyish. They are the same size but the material is just different. I haven't had the '92 since are new so I can't talk of how black it used to be when new... My '89 740 bumpers are also more black than the '92. I suppose Volvo tried some new material in 92 and it didn't work, went back to previous method in '93...
