Unhappy major coolant leak

i have a 1993 940 turbo. when i fill the reservoir up with water, it doesn't leak out at all until i actually start the car, and then it's just a trickle until i push on the accelerator. then the water comes gushing out under the car. i looked as best as i could, and from what i can tell, it's coming out of a hose underneath the fuel filter. i'm attaching a photo. it's the hose that goes up behind the fuel filter.

can anyone tell me what that hose is for? how can i remove it? would i need to remove that oil line also coming from the bottom of the fuel filter to get to it?

this blew out unexpectedly; has anyone else ever experienced this particular problem?

You mean the oil filter? It looks like the hose for the cabin heater.

It's a hose, replace it. Are hoses breaking after 17 years of use common issues? Is that what you're asking? Yes, after 17 years of being exposed to heat, cold, liquids. Things tend to break down. Also that looks to be an oil filter.

Also I can't tell which one is leaking cus the picture has the oil cooler to heater return pipe with a drop of fluid on it, and a completely soaked oil cooler to pipe hose. I would buy them both and do it at the same time. It would be like $15 for both hoses.

thankyou i replaced both, and it's running fine now. it was the longer hose that was actually leaking, btw.
