the 240 map pockets were notoriously weak. the tan/beige 240 interior plastics are notoriously brittle.
IPD sells a map pocket protector, you'll still need new map pockets (I wouldn't go used as they'll be old and ready to crack again), then put the IPD covers over them to beef them up.
if its not a 240... well, I think the 740/940 map pockets are a much better design, but they still can take a beating, especially from passengers who insist on using their foot to push the door open. and yeah, IPD has covers for those too.
