Default May be adopting an '89 GL, advice please!

One of my oldest, dearest friends let his GL sit for a few years. He wants to get it running to sell it. He put a new battery in it the other day and it almost started. He is the original owner and took very good care of it, I do remember that. I'm wondering what we should look for when he gets it running? If I buy it, what are the main new parts I will need - - seals and hoses? fuel lines? I don't even know if it's going to be worth it to restore, it is a nice one though. The mileage is unknown, odo. stopped. It is under 200K I know. Any advice would be great, I am female and not a do it yourselfer!
Thanks!

Well, it would be great if he's drain and refill the gas tank. That old gas can cause lots of issues. Change the oil, change the coolant, check the brake fluid. Just regular maintenance. Since you're not a do-it-yourselfer it would be good to get on the good side of a small, independent shop that is familiar w/ rwd Volvos. Today's dealerships are filled with techs who, for the most part, know little of 240's and 7/9's.
