Finally own a Volvo! May i say..... Rocket Wagon!
I travelled to St Louis this past weekend and picked up a 1996 Volvo 850 turbo Wagon. I think i got a good deal on it for $2500 trip and registration included.
It needs an alignment, and i need to fix the annoying rattles inside. Timing belt will be due in about 10 k miles. The odometer does not work but i thinkI can fix it.The windsheild washer pump does not work as well. I keep getting intermittent check engine light as well theABS light.Besides that it has the cloth interior which is good but the heated seats do not work. I think all these things are minor and I will slowly work to fix them.
I am new to Volvos but have researched and found them to be good cars which is why i bought one. My wife hates it but i would like to put my family i a safer car. The wagon moves with the Turbo so its fun as well.
Anything else i should know about these cars as far as keeping up with maintenace? Thanks

Hello,
Your wife'll love Volvos, once she gets to know that Volvos are the safest passenger cars on the planet (other than some VIP vehicles).
As for technical questions, be sure to post questionsin the 850 section. The following thread may be of some use:

Good luck with your 850!
