A/C light won't turn on, what may be the cause?
I have a 94 850 and when I turn on the A/C switch the light won't come on. Is this indicative of a major A/C problem? I bought the car from my Father, and he had the A/C system replaced. He did tell me they had to remove the dash. This work was done 2 years ago. Is this a fuse problem (hoping) or will I have to shell out another $1250 to replace the system? The car was very well taken care of and runs great. If I decide not to fix, would this effect any other system? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

If you decide to not fix it no it wont affect anything else.If you have a test light check under the hood follow the A/C lines to the body by the windsheild. You will see an electronic valve in line called a low pressure switch.Turn on the A/C and check for power there. If you are low on freon you will have power on one side only. The light on the dash for the A/C might just be bad.Or you could also have a bad A/C head unit.Do you have manual A/C controls or electronic? If you have an auto temp control on the dash it is electronic. If you just have 12345 on the control it is manual.
Hey Tech,
Thanks for responding so quickly, I have manual controls, I will also check the suggestions you have made once the weather gets better here. Thanks again for the GREAT help...

Hey Tech,
The problem was with the light, my father also confirmed it. He told me the A/C works well, the indicator light went out and needs to be replaced. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT HELP!
