Default Min octane for a 740 Turbo?

I'm sure everyone is beginning to think about lower octane fuels in light of Katrina's exacerbation on fuel prices. I was always told to use 92 min in my 88 turbo but is it really necessary? Anyone been using 89 or even 87 in their turbo and can provide some empirical feedback?

I use 87 octane in my 93 940 and have not noticed any problems but as someone in here said a spark knock suppressor is a safety device not a money saving device. I would read your owners manual and if your compression is approching say 9.5 to 1 ratio I think you will need high test
