My 1984 240 Wagon's Rust Issue
Hello, basically anyone here could help me I believe because I've never done much body work what so ever. My 240 wagon I bought in August is in rough shape body wise. The rear wheel wells have both fallen out more or less there are just gaping holes and the trim underneath the doors is starting to rust over as well. This is a Massachusetts car so it is very susceptible to rust. I don't want a perfect car but I want piece of mind that my machine isn't falling apart while I'm driving.
Any advice for how I should fill these holes and how to nip the rust at the bud and prevent any future rust issues would be helpful.
Also if anyone knows where I can order the exact color paint for my car, that would be helpful as well.
Again it is a 1984 Volvo DL Wagon.
Thanks I can upload pictures if it would help.

You can patch it up by cutting out the rust and welding new sheet metal in. Might not look the best but would give you piece of mind that it is structurally sound. However, from the sounds of it your car is pretty far gone as far as rust is concerned. Probably not worth the cost to do all that.
rust is a killer and the more you dig the more you will uncover.
if you are in Mass. there are a few (not many!) wagons on craigslist right now if you decide the rust is not worth taking on.. maybe use the current one for a parts donor.
