My Thermostat Stuck on me today...
I was shocked on my drive to work this morning to see my temp. gauge about 3/4's of the way up the scale. Typically the needle stays right below the dot at the center of the gauge and never moves no matter what the outside temps. are like. It would fluctuate up to the high side then drop down to normal,it did that probably a dozen times real slowly, eventually it "healed" itself after I was almost to work. So I replaced it this afternoon with no problems at all. At least Volvo made them easy to remove and replace!![sm=icon_rock.gif]
Oh and one more thing that I wasn't too impressed with, I couldn't for the life of me find a drain on the radiator.....am I blind and there is one there? I just took the lower hose off and drained it that way but I don't think I've ever seen a radiator without a drain, well except for the REALLY older cars.

I looked everywhere for that darn drain, I'm convinced its not there. I bought the car with 184K miles on it after it had sat for 2 years in someones yard, so the maintenance history is sketchy at best. Actually I have all of the receipts for the first 11 years and 110K miles of its life in Duxbury, MA, after that there is nothing. How it made itdown here to GA is a mystery but there's not doubt it's a salt car. The frame and underbody are absolutely perfect, the body and brackets are another story.....I actually searched for 2 months for a 5 speed and that's how I ended up with mine. The 5 speeds seem to be quite a rarity, especially on ebay and traderonline.
