I need to find a reputable company that sells rebuilt engines for a 1988 240 DL. I looked online, but was not sure where I should start. Anyone have any opinions on this? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

 

you can start at the dealer, you can probably still get a short block for a lot of $$$$... but why? the red block is normally the last thing to go in these cars and chances are that whatever trouble you are having is not the block itself! if you do have to replace the block you can get a used motor for $500 pretty much everywhere... unless you are made of money, i'd not get a "new" or even a "rebuilt" motor as they are much more expensive than the car it will go into...

 

Tell us a bit more what's wrong with your engine...does it look like this?
