M41 was used on really old 1800 class volvos.

a 4 speed w/ J overdrive is almost certainly a M46

post the picture on a photosite that allows linking (NOT photobucket... you can use imgur, I use smugmug but that costs per year, etc), then right click on the picture on that photosite, 'copy image address...', then click the photo tool in the post editor, and paste in that link.... the link should be something that ends with .jpg ...

thats an M41, for the P1800'S, 140 series, and was used in the 1975 240, before being superceded by the M46

ancient. also looks to be completely unrestored/refurbished.

Default Which transmission is this?

I'm looking for a late M41 also called M41 1.5 which was only compatible with the J-type overdrive. I was offered one but not sure if this is it. Here are the pics with the relevant numbers. Who can tell me if this is what I'm looking for?

Thanks! Matt
