Need Input On Trim Removal
Hi all. I'm stripping down a 1982 244 GL for paint. Got to the side window trim and hit the wall. My car has a ledge molding that the window scrapers are attached to, (see attached pix), and also wraps around the rear triangular window and all along the drip rail. To make things more complicated, my shop manual shows screws at 3 points on the rear side window while my car seems to have rivets at these points. I don't see many 240's with these particular moldings but all the shimmying and pushing and pulling I've tried has been to no avail. I pushed a joining clip back on the drip rail and got a little bit of movement out of the rear window wrap but am afraid of hurting the otherwise perfect trim. Any help would be appreciated. Wow, after 3 weeks of fruitless internet searching, I ran across this tonight. So if any of you are faced with removing this type of trim, Dave Barton's after market parts page pertaining to window scrapers has a nice little tutorial on both styles of trim kits. Here's a link:
