Just finished a replacement/upgrade three days ago! Went MUCH easier than I thought it would. What are hoping to achieve?

If the car already has an aftermarket unit, someone else has already sorted out the wiring for you which is a plus. I have the same radio in 3 cars. This is because I'm old and don't care to learn three different systems. I bought Kenwoods that have a cable for a thumb drive. Makes it so much nicer than CD's. I can load a couple hundred songs on it and go on down the road. Very nice! It also has capabilities for satellite radio and IPod input but neither of those appeal to me personally.

I guess it really depends on how long you plan to keep the car. If longer than 2 years, and you really listed to your sounds, spend a few bucks.
