need some insights
The auxillary cooling fan (the one that right after the grill and blows onto the AC condenser) of mine shorted out the other day. I purchased the replacement fan "Dorman" that is supposed to be an oem drop in. and it fits like a glove. The problem is I hook it up to the wiring and the fan does not turn. I have jumpered the wires that go to the temp senser switch in the radiator and volatage should be going to the fan. When I hook the fan straight to the battery it works. So that's eliminated as not functioning. At the last metering of the wires, I measured 11.5 volts at the the terminals that connect to the fan. I followed the wires to the firewall, and I read 11.5V from the wire coming from the firewall, with the ground connected to the engine block. Havn't gone into the fuse box and checked the voltage across the fuse yet (#7).
So any ideas guys? Maybe need to rewire this section? Will spend the next couple days making things shiny, bright and tight.
