Default New 780 bertone owner

The last Volvo I had was 11 years ago so I figured I was overdue for another so I grabbed a 1990 780 coupe. One of the owners replaced the factory wheels with some 16" aftermarkets that just don't work with the 780's styling at all so I'd like to replace them. Do all the fwd volvo wheels require a 15mm spacer to achieve the proper backspacing for our rwd cars? I see conflicting storys about the 960/90, some say the backspacing changed in the late 90's and would require a spacer for older rwd cars, does this sound accurate? I have plenty of other things to worry about with the 780 but those damn wheels just drive me nuts, any feedback is appreciated.

Seems like it was 94 when the spacing changed. Pre 94 would need the rwd offset or spacers.

There is a lot of misinformation and subjective, wishy washy rubbish out there on the net but after an additional 5-6 hours of searching I think I may have answered most of my own questions.
