Considering there isn't a big demand for these motors I would say about $2000 would be a going price.

As I see that engine is probably one of few unused, I will be more happy if he can find collector or museum home.

Maybe some VOLVO dealer would like to have this engine on display.

Of course I like money, but I am mechanical engineer and I will like to preserve this part of history.

right you are this isn't an auction website. if the OP is too shy to mention a number then so be it. let it go on ebay and see what the market really is

I suggest you post that question on turbobricks.com.

Not a Turbo... Nice to have but really, why? How many Red Blocks need new "blocks"? The engines are the last thing to break in these cars; give me door panels, headliners, bumper trim, A/C parts, seats, door pockets, etc. Engines? Not so much.

For the right price I'd take a new engine. I'm sure someone would part with some money for it.

But you're right, i've had my 240 for nearly a decade and it is pushing 200K (80K of that is my responsibility) and purrs like it's new.

He posted this engine in the for sale section on turbobricks but never posted a price. No price is a violation of the rules and the thread was eventually locked.

He did get some "bids" of about $350.

In his post he included his email... from that some of those fellas thought he was in CROATIA!

It was a mildly entertaining thread... kinda why I suggested he post over there.

As Lou Costello might say..."I'm a bad boy."
