Hey guys, Just bought my first volvo ever, 91 940 turbo. So far for 350 bucks i can't complain at all. turbo still spools and just got it registered and inspected. The S pipe to the 2nd muffler back needs to be replaced as well as that muffler, and also unsure of the timing belt change. any insight on what to do for the exhaust for the cheapest fix, as well as knowing when the timing belt was changed last, or looking at it to determine? Thanks for the help

Welcome aboard!!

If you're just looking for a cheap, fast repair on the exhaust the best bet is a local muffler shop. They can use their exhaust pipe crusher and whip out a pipe to replace the bad portion and muffler. Not exactly performance oriented but will get you legal.

There is no freshness date on timing belts per se. It's best to swap it at the earliest practical time so you know how old it is. No way to look at one and tell unless it's so old it's cracked.
