no electrical from coil

Default no electrical from coil

bought the best car i have ever owned. everything worked for about 10 days, then it would cut off while driving. hit neutral restarted and kept on going. then it would not go into park, no biggy just neutral and park brake. then it would die and would have to wait to start. NOW it dont want to start, cant get electric from coil (replaced from coil to plugs including cap and rotor).
garage says it is a volvo, what do you expect. not the answer i need HELP

you can test you coil....

but give us more info...

Year and model...240 740 940 ???? you got an automatic, that we know...

More info on the car please....

"can't get electric from coil"... I'd like to know what basis this statement has? what test(s) were performed? what does that even mean?

the coil gets battery voltage on one terminal, and the other terminal is grounded to trigger each spark. if you put a test light across the two side terminals, it would blink while the car is being cranked over if anything is correct.

What year and model vehicle do you have? Symptoms sound to me that you may have a bad crank position sensor. However, only LH 2.4 & LH 3.1 fuel injection systems had this sensor. This would mean a post '89 240/740/940.
