Default No injector pulse 1988 240DL

Car was running fine. Suddenly wouldn't turn over at all. Figured the starter went bad. Tried to use jumper cable on starter terminal to determine if problem was solenoid or starter itself or what???
BAD IDEA!! Towed it to garage and replaced the starter and solenoid. That solved the cranking issue but still wouldn't start. I have spark and fuel but no pulse at the injectors... Think I grounded it out and sent a voltage surge that burned out the ECU. Bot a used ECU on e-bay but still won't start. Do you have any ideas? HELP PLEASE!!

I'm pretty sure i fried something when i fumbled with the jumper cable trying to touch the terminals. Thought it was ECU. Could it be main relay? I don't feel or hear it "click" when I turn key. Ignition switch?

Are you sure you have both spark and fuel? You've seen a spark from a plug wire and can hear the pumps prime?

For future knowledge, leave the jumpers on the battery. To go around the solenoid, remove the wire from the small terminal on the solenoid...it's the wire that runs up to the firewall and eventually to the key. Take a big BIG screwdriver and jumper from that small terminal to the big starter terminal w/ the red battery cable.
As Bubba has mentioned, there's some basic stuff to check before you tear into it. Pull a plug wire and make certain you have good spark, get a helper if needed and make certain the pumps prime when first turning the key to run. Check the fuse at the battery in the exposed holder, known fail point.

Thanks for the help. The mechanic told me it had spark and fuel but no injector pulse. I will verify that asap. I jumped the #4 and #6 fuses and ONLY then could i hear the main fuel pump running, but i can't hear the in-tank pump running even with a long hose in the tank up to my ear. Fuses are okay but i don't hear or feel a "click" from the fuel pump relay.

Can i use the "screw driver at the ear" method to listen to injectors as it cranks, or does the engine need to be running?

As swift stated, inspect the blade fuse on the fender, by the coil.
