no power to fuel pump
First of all whats up to everyone out there hopefully one of you can answer my ? I have a 1990 740gl , i thought my fuel pump in tank was out so i took it down and tested it with a separate batterie and it pumps just fine but for some reason the wires that power the pump on the volvo are dead no juice at all ... i followed it to circuit # 11 and that circuit is dead and didnt even pop the fuse ...everything else has power except the fuse for the fuelpump... I dont have a manual so i was wondering if anyone knows if theressome sort of fuel relay i dont know about ?
I'm fairly certain the fuel pump relay/fuel injection systemrelay is going to be located on the relay panel behind the front ash tray...driver side, behind the big red relay(bulb failure sensor) and/or in front of the two smaller silver relays.
[front-back orientation is: front of Volvo is the forward whereas rear is aft.]

Don't worry about the color. Call up a faithful Volvo shoppe and ask for the part number, cross reference to make sure you yourself know what you have. Don't be discouraged by nimrods.
goodness gracious what other things must one reply with?[sm=teetertooter.gif]

And it's large and square; you can't miss it... The date of production should be stamped on it somewhere-probably the original that came with the car and due for retirement. A Volvo shop may try to get you in for some "extra attention" you may need.[
