Default oil shocks

Does anyone else make an oil shock for 940's besides Sachs?

the boge/sachs 'stock' style shocks probably /are/ the best choice out there for long lasting, great ride.

I'm sure you're right but one of my goals with this car is to make it a great riding car as cheaply as possible. That's why I was wondering if anybody else offers an oil shock. Do you know if all the KYB's are gas?

KYB's are junk, they wear out in 50K miles or less. most are stiff to damn stiff, depending on the model.

It's real annoying when all these after market shocks(kyb, monroe, Gabriel, etc) all claim to re-establish the original ride yet they're all stiffer than the original.

the Sachs are $45-55 each at FCPeuro. isn't that cheap enough?

Yes, that is a good price, especially with free shipping. And I'm going with Sachs. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether I go with gas(which it came with) or oil. I'm convinced that an oil shock will give a smoother ride but it's been so long since I've driven a Volvo with new factory gas shocks that I'm wondering where it will fall between factory oil shocks and the after market gassers I have? And how much handling I might lose?

BTW, after 2 weeks of having these gassers on, my car no longer is higher on the passenger side. All 4 sides are identical so it had to be the shocks waiting to settle. I did read someone where that some gas shocks(Bilstein HD's) can jack a car up?

I believe those Sachs on FCPeuro are the 'Advantage', which are, I think, Low Pressure gas, which is sort of a hybrid between gas and oil. anyways, they are pretty much the stock OEM shock on the turbo models, which has just slightly more dampning than the normal car, and will be just fine, smooth controlled ride.

I ordered the Sachs. The price for front and rear has gone up a little - $210 - still pretty good but what I really like about FCEuro is their great return policy and warranty - lifetime! And if I don't like them they'll take em back. Great company! Thanks for the tip.
