I posted earlier about my transmission failing.

In addition, the car will occasionally turn over and almost start. It might start after 5-6 tries. Other times, it will die while idling at a long stoplight. Could it be the fuel relay? Other troubleshooting ideas? This car has some electrical issues because someone really botched an aftermarket security system (before I bought it, has long since been disabled), and the heated seats don't work.

I just want to make sure that I don't pour an investment into the car to fix the transmission to find out that the mystery car death syndrome is serious.
