Default overdrive question

Hello everyone

Sorry for so many questions lately, I have another one....

On my 93 wagon, the overdrive light on the dash is always on, and pressing the little button on the side of the gear shifter does not do anything,

I firstly checked the fluid level in the trans, added 1 litre to it, there is a slight leak, 2 little drops every time you stop the car, no drama for the immediate future

I know on my sedan the overdrive should go "click" even when the car is stationary to turn it on or off, but the wagon makes no sound at all when you press the button.

It is definately stuck with the overdrive on, you can feel it when driving up a hill.

Any thoughts or ideas what the problem might be?

Is there like a switch or solenoid that controls this?

I need to have a transmission service to fix the leak and adjust it, as sometimes it "clunks" when selecting reverse, so I guess all this would be best fixed at once.

thanks for any thoughts or comments.

If there's no sound check the O/D relay. I got to it by removing my glove box. Check online for exact location. What's odd though is it typically stops the O/D from engaging rather than keeps it on.

Check the fuse, #11 I think, and the switch before you go on.

In canada, it cost me 85 after our obnoxious new tax. And that's with the shipping etc. So I would guess the same or cheaper where you're at.

Talking Overdrive question??

Check the O/D relay located to the left side (after removing the glovebox). It is white colored (Bosch #3523804) and should make a clicking sound each time you press the O/D switch, that for starters.
