Default PLEASE HELP!!! Crank no start!!!

So I recently did a few repairs on my 240, just maintenance really. For starters it's a 92 240gl auto trans. Replaced shifter linkage bushings, driver side lower ball joint, and a thermostat. So I go to fire the car up today to head to work and car starts as usual and immediately dies. Figured because it had been a few days it just konked out, but nope, now it just cranks and cranks and cranks. I took the wire off the coil that goes to the center of the distributor and had my fiance crank the car. I held onto the wire expecting to have the crap shocked out of me, and nothing.. Unless I'm wrong I thought i would have received a nice jolt. Now i checked fuses, and number 6, believe main fuel pump relay and injector system and it looked toasted so I replaced it. cranked and still got nothing. electrical is not my strong suit so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction!!!

With no spark I would suspect the crank position sensor . You should also check to see if the injectors are getting power. Funny that it just died so think back at what you did and make sure you didn't unplug or move something. Also check the neutral start switch at the transmission. Make sure you didn't disturb something when you did the trans. bushings.

Thank you thank you for the quick response! Those are my two suspicions, but I may rule the neutral safety switch out based on the fact that it did start originally and that it cranks now. I did try wiggling the shifter while starting and it went into reverse, triggering the switch and it wouldn't crank at all. I'm kind of thinking that coolant, or water that I used to wash off the coolant got in contact with some electrical component and shorter something. being that the thermostat housing is inches from the distributor.. but all fuses look good so idk! 😣

1st thing you should verify that the timing belt is ok by taking the oil filler cap off, have someone crank engine while you look to verify camshaft is turning ...

. CAR is fixed! After coming home from work the night of this post, I checked the fuses like I stated in my OP and replaced them to no affect. only to realize in the morning that I had the coil unplugged from the distributor the whole time post replacing the fuses. So my mistake fellas, it was the fuses! Thank you for all the help and fast responses fellas! til next time!

leaving the coil wire off would do it certainly! glad it was something simple. as a side note on fuses, a few days ago i see the turn signals not working but the hazards were ok. looked in the fuse box and the 16amp fuse from slot 5 was lying loose at the bottom of the box. somehow it got jarred loose ... never had that happen before!
