Default Posible Auto Tranny problem?

[:@]I just got done spending 300 bucks on getting the fuel system going! Now when I put it (it by the way is a 1986 740 GLE non Turbo) to get to go up the hill from where I live, I have to get the engine rpms to 3000. When on level road there seems to be no problem. Untill I stop and /or accelerate, then it's back to rev up the 3000 rpm till I go down hill, back to normal, untill accelerate, stop or up hill. Helpppp!!!!!!!!!!

Is your trans slipping? How steep is the hill? Going 3000rpm on a STEEP hill may be acceptable.

This only started after replacing the fuel system componets and the mass air sensor. The hill is a 20 degree upgrade. But it also does this when on level ground when I start going. It seems that there is no acceleration at all when in drive. The car never did this befor. The fuel system was overhauled and air flow sensor replaced whe the engine would not stay runnig. Befor the car would only need to rev up to 1500 rpm to go up the hill. The car runs fine untill I need to go forward.

OK, then, obviously it's fuel system related... What was done in this overhaul? Whatever was replaced/cleaned has to be checked. Who did it? Go back and see what they say first.

The 2 fuel pumps, fuel filter and air flow sensor was all that was replaced. The person that did the work mostly does BMWs. I didn't find any gas leaks or kinks in the lines. I haven't pulled the in-tank pump. The outside pump has new wire and different connectors than the old one. The oldin-tank pump has soldered connectors and what looks 2 small coils. All other parts look clean but he didn't say that he did anything to them.

Had everyting tested. It's ok with the fuel system. I have acceleration when in reverse can fell the shift when in reverse. When in drive I fell no engagement untill 2300 to 2500 rpm, and to get going 3000 rpm, cann't even feel the shift when going from nuetral to drive unless I rev up to about 2500 rpm then a slight shift.
