Default Pressure bleeding problem/warning

Non ABS '88 240, Put on new master cylinder and was going to pressure bleed. At 20 lbs I heard a pop noise....yep the "american"made reservoir blew open the seam. Now I am afraid to use the old reservoir for the same reason.... back to pump and dump.

FWIW, you're not the first person that's happened to. It's the little talked about but rather serious drawback of pressure bleeding. Years ago, Snap-On sold a kit that used shop air pressure with a regulator...you can imagine the consequences when the regulator wasn't set properly. Reservoirs are not designed nor built for pressure really, just a reservoir.
