Hey, guys I have been taking a quick look on the internet for the price on a new and/or used transmission for my 1988Standard 5-speed Volvo 740 GLE. Ijust needa general idea on the price because I know my transmission is counting down the days before it dies on me. I just want I general idea on how much this will kill my wallet. If any of you can give me a price just please state if it is for a new or usedtransmission and if it is in Canadian or American dollars. Thank you guys for your help.

 

I've seen the M47's like you and I have (mine is a 240 5 speed), on ebay for a couple of hundred bucks. You might want to try www.car-parts.com and see what you can find used there. That does a search by zip code in as large or small of an area you want to look at and will surely give you a few options. There are 11 of them within 500 miles of the Atlanta area ranging in price from 200 to 800 bucks. Give this option a try.

I've used that site to find seats, wheels, etc. etc. I'm amazed at how accurate it is along with showing you who is charging how much so you don't get ripped off. Good luck and let us know what you find.
