Okay,now I understand your problem.Cut the spade terminal off the little red wire and install a ring terminal.

what about my ground connection that goes to the engine block?

WOW, ok, 14.2v running with idle, no headlamps!!!!That fix it.Man i cant thank you guys enough.Seriously, I feel dumb.I learned alot.Those were completley different alternators.No more battery light and everythings working as it should.But yeah I thankyou guys for being so helpful and resposive.Thanks have a good night!

I have the same problem.. did I miss something??

It seems I missed something between post 23 and 24... I was following 'till then.. I just replaced my alternator again.. 2.5 months... with same part #.. hooked it up as the other was and now battery light... couldn't understand the fix.. ???
