Default Problems starting?

I was wondering whats wrong with my car, usually it's supposed to start when i move my key, but i see myself holding the key for at least 2 second before the car turns on, i know it must be normal for a car this old, but i was just wondering

When that happens does the engine crank over?
Or you hear nothing?

Sorry I posted a reply but not sure what happened.

I replied that Since you hear BRUM BRUM it is cranking over(Enigne cranking/spinning over)
Have your Mech. check the fuel pressure and Rest pressure.

The Rest pressure is what the pressure holds at once you turn the car off.
It is supposed to hold for a while and then drop some and then stay at about 15PSI.

If yours is dropping to 0 then when you go to start it you have to push gas all the way from the tank to the engine. That could be why it is taking so long to start.

Still could be that though. If it is that it will only get worse.
