89 240, Can I extract the whole front strut assembly without needing a spring compresser? Is The compressor is just for dissasembling the strut for cartridge replacement or for the removal of the whole assembly? Thought maybe I'd take both ***'y to a garage to have the cartridge changed. Not into it all yet, a bit too cold...Thanks Dave

 

you only need aspring compressor to take the strut assly. apart, no special tools are needed to take it off the car.
