My 92 240 with 132k on the clock ended up with a dead battery over the winter. I gave the battery a full charge to full and within a week it was dead again. I wanted to see if there was a parasitic drain going on and came up with these readings. See attached pictures.
Does it look like a parasitic drain or just an old battery that is not holding a charge?
Assuming the key is off and all accessories are off, half an amp is too high. I don't know what is typical for a 240 (I sold my last one a few years back) but my Acura runs typically half of that (around 250 milliamps) and I consider that to be on the high side. My guess is that it should be somewhere around 100-150 milliamps. Start pulling fuses one at a time to see if you can narrow it down.
Damn, I must have grabbed the wrong pictures off my phone. I don't even recognize those, and my meter is red not yellow. When I posted this, I was going out the door for a multi-day motorcycle trip. That's what I get for being in a rush.
I'll update this shortly, but the problem may be the Bluetooth radio.
These pictures were taken after I put a new battery in the multi-meter which I found to have a bad terminal.
The close up is of my 92 240 with the fuse for the car radio pulled.
The other picture is with the radio fuse reinstalled.
I may not have a problem here. Now, I'm out to get a new battery for the car.
Thanks for your patients.
