Default Quick Break Question

Time to replace the break pads on the front of my 740. Now i have done beaks before and i know for the most part what and what not to do, but i just have a question....when i was about to buy the pads this question was asked....WITH GIRLING CALIPERS? or WITH BENDIX CALIPERS? I am lost, how do i know what kind of calipers i have, and does it matter? Thanks a lot.

Take the wheel off and see if the caliper says girling or bendix on it.

That doesnt always work.. Look at the pads good and then look at the new ones.

The brake systems are make by the same company. Sometimes both types will have the same name stamped on the caliper.

On some another way to tell is wether it has ABS or not.

I have the same problem... but I can't read the name of the caliper on it.. 'cause it's too rusty..
I read that it is possible to know what kind of brake it is, by knowing if it's ABS or not..

If it's ABS? what it is? girling or bendix?

Thanks

I think the Gerling is for ABS but not 100% sure.

I think your right... if I look at this website :

http://www.atozmotorspares.co.uk/pro...c8584fff174ff9

they say it's bendix caliper for car w/o ABS.. so..
