Hey all...my cd player from abouyt 5-6 years is going out and I'm looking to replace it with a radio that looks more out of the 80s.

I've been chatting with the guys at Retro manufacturing and we've decided on this model

1986 244 DL Radio slot (single din) measuring 7 3/8 in x 2 3/8 in ??

They said the din slot should be 7 in x 2 in but on my meansurements the din slot is about 7 3/8 x 2 3/8....so just a bit bigger than what they are saying. Anyone have more info or experience with the radios on 240 Volvos? Am I measuring the wrong part? Should i be measuring the slot the radio goes in itself and not the third party mount made to house it?

any help/suggestions are appreciated!

 

The hole in the dash is not DIN sized, it is larger. Your photo shows a tuner installed in a DIN adapter.
