Reverse Light NOT working
1985 GLT sedan: back up lights do NOT come on when in reverse. Getting power to Reverse Light Switch (ie: Neutral Safety Switch which has Reverse Back Up Switch feed for automatic trans).
Also power going out from Neutral safety switch towards tail lights.
I must have a short or burned wire from neutral safety switch towars rear reverse lights. Any advice or ideas?

I have had that problem with both of my 240 sedans. In both the cases, I found the problem to be with the connector to the circuit board on the left rear taillight. Basically over time the connector scrapes off all of the metal on the circuit board. If you have a voltmeter, you can check to make sure you are getting power back to the tailight.
Remove the cover of the left rear taillight in the trunk. You may need to remove the spare tire to get the cover off. Disconnect the wires to the taillight. With the key on and the car in reverse, check the voltage on the contacts of the edge connector. You should have 12 volts to one of the contacts (I can't remember which wire the backup light is and my Haynes manual doesn't list a wiring diagram for backup lights). If you don't have voltage to any of the contacts, then the problem must be forward of that point. If you do have voltage, then the problem is most likely at that edge connector.
I corrected this problem on mine using a little piece of aluminum foil. Sounds a bit of a ghetto fix but so far it has lasted 3 years on my daughter's car.
