Default rim compatibility

I need a spare for my 1991 740 non-turbo. My spare that needs replaced is 15" rim with a 155r15 tire. I am fairly certain that the five bolt pattern and center bore is the same on at least all the RWD Volvos. Also a comparable tire size is 125/90r15. I came across some full size rims that I was thinking about using as a spare, but I also found some spares off different models. My problem is that I am unsure of the rim offset of these other models. If these other models are RWD then the rim should work if they are FWD then probably not. Could someone advise me of the compatibility?

thanks

*(Offset is also commonly referred to as "ET" and is often stamped into the backside of wheels)

850/C-S-V 70 1993-2000 + 35-38mm offset with 65.1 mm hub bores
S40/V40 2000-2004 + 42mm offset with 67.1mm hub bores
P1 chassis S40, V50, C30 +43mm offset with 63.4 mm hub bores
P1 chassis C70 +43mm offset with 63.4 mm hub bores
S60 2001-2007 + 42mm offset with 65.1 mm hub bores
V70 2001-2007 + 42mm offset with 65.1 mm hub bores
S80 1999-2006 + 42mm offset with 65.1 mm hub bores
XC90 2003-2014 +42mm to 48mm offset with 67.1 mm hub bores

offset for the 240s and similar RWD models is in the 25mm range where the FWDs are 38-45mm so I'd think you'd be ok with a rim from a 960.

I believe that the later model 960s had a different offset than the 940s.

yes, some of the newer (ie 95-97) 960s show 15mm and others show 25mm as the offset. A full set of 4 960 +15mm rims would look great on the 740 as they'd fill out the fenders a bit more...

The 15mm will require spacers to compensate. Otherwise they will scrape and have the incorrect geometry.

I'd really doubt if the 15mm offsets will scrape - we're talking about 3/8 of an inch here. Normally that problem happens when someone goes from a 6 or 6.5 inch factory rim up to an 8 or 9 inch rim when doing +2 sizing adding 1-2 inches to the rim edge location. As to geometry - nothing should change. Toe is the same, camber/castor is the same.
